On the afternoon of 8 June 2021, Pan Yue, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and entourage, visited the Liem Sioe Liong Memorial Hall. The team had come to Fujian to check on the work of the united front and overseas Chinese affairs offices.

Accompanied by Liu Zhuoqun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Fuqing Municipal Committee, Director Pan and his entourage visited the four exhibition halls — "A Family of Good Deeds", "The Path to Business Success", "Overseas Fuqing Clansmen", and "A Passionate Philanthropist". They stopped from time to time to ask questions and learn more about Mr. Liem Sioe Liong's arduous entrepreneurship journey in Nanyang and his benevolent deeds to benefit his hometown.                     

Director Pan expressed his full recognition of the patriotism of overseas Fuqing folks represented by Mr. Liem Sioe Liong, and encouraged Fuqing and Fuzhou to continue giving full play to the advantages of overseas Chinese to inherit the fine tradition of the older generation of overseas Chinese in loving their homeland and remembering their ancestors, and urged the younger generation to actively participate in the economic and social development of Fuqing and Fuzhou.

Huang Jinfa and Zheng Huiwen, leaders of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and Chen Ye, leader of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, also participated in the visit.
