On 27 January, the Fuqing Municipal Government and the CPPCC Fuqing Municipal Committee jointly organized a tour of Fuqing for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese representatives residing in Fuqing. On the afternoon of the same day, Weng Fangming, chairman of CPPCC Fuqing Municipal Committee, led a delegation of more than 70 people to visit the Liem Sioe Liong Memorial Hall.

With the Spring Festival around the corner, the Overseas Chinese Park was filled with lights and decorations. The visitors took a walking tour around the park, listening to a brief introduction of the construction of the park and the cultural history of Haikou Town, as they made their way to the memorial hall. The representatives paid tribute to the seated statue of Mr. Liem Sioe Liong at the lobby, and accompanied by the guide, visited the four exhibition halls where they learned more about the touching deeds of Mr. Liem Sioe Liong, who despite residing overseas, had cared about his hometown and rallied and led overseas Fuqing folks to support the development of their hometown. Everyone was awed by Mr. Liem's great acts of love and kindness.

At the end of the visit, the visitors took a group photograph in front of the seated statue of Mr. Liem Sioe Liong in memory of him. Everyone agreed that the historical materials displayed in the Liem Sioe Liong Memorial Hall were very precious, showing in many aspects Mr. Liem's business wisdom, love for his homeland and hometown, and his great contribution to the economic development of Fuqing. His glorious deeds and noble character will be remembered forever and passed on from generation to generation.
